Barry Lewis & Spencer Devine

In the winter months of 1994 two strangers were brought together by an unknown and mysterious Martial Arts Master. It was their training in the Martial Arts which secured the brother-like bond between them, and the direction of their devoted teacher that finally sent them to China in the winter of 2002. As they lounged in their Hotel in Foshan City, Barry Lewis and Spencer Devine began to talk of ways to help promote the good practice of Martial Arts at a professional level. It became clear that the Martial Arts is an honest projection of Art, Culture and Sport and our own art of Wing Chun was one of the first to be integrated into Western life and society.

On their return to the United Kingdom the decision was made to form a Company to develop the ideas which were born in the Far East, and YYA Limited was established. To begin their new journey, Barry and Spencer concentrated on what they knew best and developed a new Martial Art Club. As they were already known in small circles by the nickname ‘the yum yeurng pair’ due to their distinct differences they aptly named their club ‘The Yum Yeurng Academy’ and began to promote and coach near their homes in North London in September 2003.

As time passes, YYA Limited aims to develop their relationships with businesses, associations, charities and Martial Art enthusiasts around London and the UK so as a positive platform can be created for discussion, unification and the promotion of all styles and methods of Martial Art from China and around the World.

Together we can promote, present and preserve our knowledge and accomplish our dreams...
