SENI07 IS COMING TO LONDON!

Look out for this years Senishow, which is coming to London for the first time! We have decided not to exhibit this year, as we would like to move around without limits over the weekend. We worked with Ms-L at our British Museum event, and she has invited the famous Wushu Coach Wu Bin, Jet Li’s teacher, to the UK to host the ‘London Wushu Open’ at Seni07 on Saturday 19th May. You can also train with Wu Bin on Sunday by booking online at www.senishow.com

27/02 - Just when you thought that we had disappeared forever, we’re back! We have had some minor problems with our website and email services, so we are now updating things bit by bit and looking to re-launch the site in March with new features and updated design. After being online now since 2003, it still amazes us how much information is available on the web regarding Martial Arts, but still there seems to be something missing. Not enough videos? Not enough events? And not enough unity!?

Chi Sau Demonstrations!

The SENi06 Expo again proved to be a worthwhile investment and unique promotional opportunity. Our third year at the show allowed us to finally present our joint project ‘Martial Heritage’, which we have been developing with our long-term colleague Otto Madarasz at Martial Promotions. We were also fortunate enough to meet with many Wing Chun practitioners, especially on the Saturday, as our stand became a central point for Chi Sau experimentation and a reunion of old brothers, including James Sinclair and Garry McKenzie. Our current clients, Dave O’Donnell (Cage Rage), Danny Guba (Doce Pares) Anton Van Thomas (Wing Chun) and Neil Adams (Judo) all helped to make this day possible, and a new DVD was launched which contains almost an hour of interviews with these awesome individuals, alongside some of the best known Martial Artists’ in the UK!

Having a stand which, in a sense, was able to promote two businesses and one idea was unique to the exhibition. The thousands of people who poured through the doors were not only there to watch competitions and buy products, they were there to see how the Martial Arts is developing. A business like ours is rare, and we noticed this more this time round than ever before. The demonstrations on the Leitai and Tatami areas were good, although again maybe the audiences would appreciate the Martial Arts more if there weren’t so many distractions!

Dedicated Jun Mo Family...

All in all, SENi06 was a fantastic weekend with a few magical moments, which we will cherish for a long time. It was an honour to help our Si Mui, Sindy Man, launch her first product to come out of the Jun Mo team in London. The Martial Flag is a much underestimated piece of training equipment, and Jun Mo have utilised their years of experience to create affordable flags for you to benefit from. So, that’s ‘Martial Heritage’, ‘Wing Chun Reunions’, ‘DVD Interviews’ and ‘Martial Flags’! Who says Martial Art is losing its appeal? How can we help you? click here

To celebrate 50 Years of Wing Chun Martial Art in London, YYA Limited in partnership with Jun Mo will be promoting a visual presentation and talk in remembrance of Grandmaster Lee Shing, the first Wing Chun teacher in England. Since the success of Bruce Lee in the West, the Wing Chun kung fu style has been widely practiced, yet few know of this humble Chinatown chef and martial arts master. Participate in our Q&A and be a part of British Martial Art history! This event, paired with FREE Martial Art Workshops at ‘The Yum Yeurng Academy’, is our contribution to the ‘China in London’ season...

China In London @ The British Museum

Tuesday 28th March 2006

Our unique visual presentation was received well at The British Museum last week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this event a success. Our special guest speakers included Anton Van Thomas (Wing Chun), Miss Liu Li Wood (Wushu) and Otto Madarasz (MMA) who all shared their thoughts on the current prospects for the Martial Artist today. With the talks being seamless from beginning to end, the visuals pounding across the auditorium and the live demonstrations adding a certain flavour of realism, we were very pleased to host such a historic evening. Ofcourse, Barry & Spencer felt that the night would not be complete without a special mention of their Teacher Joseph Man and the Jun Mo Family from which they are proud to originate. A glass scroll was presented to Master Man in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Lee Shing Wing Chun in England.

This event provided some insights into The Company and again highlighted our Services and how we can continue to promote more events like this in the future. An excellent and grand venue, The British Museum had never showcased Martial Arts before and we recorded all the presentations for the production of a new DVD, being prepared for Seni 06. With only a few more interviews to record, all is looking well for yet another fantastic show! People have often questioned our reasons for helping so many people promote their arts, even if they’re not from our own family, or style. Our answer is simple. We are Martial Artists first, then businessmen. We can only help those who ask, so check out our latest project, “Martial Heritage” which we’re launching at Seni06. We will be presenting some extraordinary individuals on stage again this year, including Neil Adams on the Tatami and our regular slot for our Wing Chun brothers is also set on the Lei Tai. Contact the NEC Box Office for tickets by visiting the Official Senishow website on our Links Page.

Sunday 29th January

What a cold day! Where were you? If you were one of the thousands who poured out onto the streets of Chinatown during this fantastic day of events, then you will understand us when we say that we were completely stunned by the crowds! The day started early for all who were involved in the Parade down Charing Cross Road to Trafalgar Square, and as the sunset hit and the firecrackers sounded, all memories of the day became jaded. We were lucky enough to catch some good times on camera so look out for an update in The Gallery, scheduled for March!

Jun Mo... London Generations...

As genuine elder members of the Wing Chun community in England, Jun Mo have been based in London since their beginning back in the eighties. Recently, having done exceptionally well at Carnival Parades, Jun Mo was approached by the GLA to form part of this unique parade. They had an army of supporters from the Joseph Lee Wing Chun Martial Arts Association, a Generation of girl flag dancers and a wide range of Carnival costumes. When they demonstrated on the Trafalgar Square stage, there must have been over 5,000 spectators! Wing Chun Forms, Weaponry and Sticky Hands were shown to the world, as too many film crews were there to mention! Even though The Yum Yeurng Academy students didn’t join the group this year, they all could see for themselves the madness of event management! From the sidelines and crowds, you never really see what’s happening backstage, but all the evidence we needed was seen when the show began! A strong overall display of areas of the Wing Chun style, with Grandmaster Lee Shings Stick being seen again, yet another unique attribute to this growing organisation. Even Barry and Spencer had the chance to chat with old friends and Martial brothers, as the support for their teacher was a true show of loyalty... our events for the season are published in the ‘Time Out’ China in London Guide!
